Healing Past Wounds

Reiki gives us the gift of working beyond time and space, which means we can send healing energy not only to the present and future but also to the past. While Reiki cannot change what happened, it can shift how we carry the memory, the emotion, and the energetic weight of it. Sending Reiki to past wounds helps dissolve lingering attachments, soften emotional blockages, and bring peace to experiences that once felt heavy. This practice allows us to see old situations from a higher perspective, loosening the grip of suffering and even uncovering hidden lessons. In this way, Reiki makes space for freedom, forgiveness, and new experiences to flow into our lives.

The process is deeply personal and best approached in a quiet, undisturbed space. Begin by grounding yourself, closing your eyes, and gently recalling the past situation you want to heal. Allow yourself to feel whatever arises without resistance or suppression, acknowledge the emotions gently as they surface. When you’re ready, invoke Reiki and use the distant healing symbol to connect with the memory, followed by mental/emotional symbol, the power symbol and any other symbols your intuition guides you to. Let Reiki flow into the memory, surrounding it with light and unconditional love. If tension comes up, keep breathing and stay relaxed, trusting that the energy knows where to go. Allow the feelings to move through you like waves, and then let them drift away. Continue until you feel a sense of lightness or completion. When the session feels settled, close with the power symbol, express gratitude, grounding yourself with deep breaths, and drinking water to integrate the healing.

Over time, this practice can transform how you hold your story. What once felt like a wound can become a source of wisdom, resilience, or neutrality. The past doesn’t change, but your relationship to it does and with that shift, your heart and mind have room to welcome new beginnings.
